About us
the mISSION of new deSTINY

There are two passages in the New Testament that helped to concretize the call and the mission of New Destiny.

Jesus said in Matthew 25:35-36, {For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you Invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.}

In Luke 4:18, Christ gives His statement of Purpose when He says: {“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He anointed me to preach the Gospel to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free those who are oppressed.}

These two Christological passages have become the foundation of NDCC. I have shared before, I believe that every church and Pastor has their own unique assignment and mission from the Lord and ours can be summed up this way:

New Destiny has been called into existence, to impact our community, by fulfilling the “Great Commission” (Matthew 28), changing lives one person at a time, by giving, sharing, loving, encouraging and launching people into their place of "DESTINY”.
the Vision of new deSTINY

What We Believe:

-
Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God.
-
Jesus died for our sins and on the third day, rose for our sins.
-
According to the scriptures, accepting Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven.

Our values at “New Destiny" are undergirded by eight (7) bedrock principles
which drive our ministry and our Vision:

-
Evangelism-- Our number one goal is and will always be the salvation of the lost. While we are trying to reach the unchurched, the unsaved and anyone who wants a fresh start from past mistakes, we also want to expand to reach people from other races, cultures and socio-economic classes.
-
Holistic Lifestyle-- We will seek the holistic improvement of each member of NDCC spiritually, emotionally, physically and financially. We will preach and teach bible mandates to achieve success in all these areas. We will make available the necessary classes to help each member achieve holistic improvement.
-
Empowerment of the Youth-- We will empower youth in our church and community with the word of God, programs, resources and training to meet their needs.
-
Outreach-- We will always be involved with outreach programs for hurting people (ie: homeless, poor, those with substance abuse issues, those incarcerated and those who are physically and mentally abused and/or challenged).
-
Community Involvement-- We will IMPACT the city of Gadsden and the surrounding cities with outreach campaigns, city wide events, prayer intercession, partnering with local schools and businesses, as well as state officials.
-
Model Excellence-- We will continue to be a model for excellent ministry in our city, state and nation. We will always strive to be excellent in our customer service. This is how we treat our members, visitors and guests from the moment they pull into our parking lot to the moment they leave. Also this is how we respond to them when they call, email or write. We will strive to reach the “Standard for Excellence” in how we do people.
-
Walk in Humility-- We will “Go Low", stay humble and maintain the spirit of love and realness that we've had since NDCC was birthed. We will make sure that we always give all the glory and all the credit to God and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Bedrock Principles-Those things that remain unless the Lord says otherwise.

Our fulfillment of the Vision of “New Destiny" from year to year rest heavily on
the abiding words of Jesus Christ, who gives us our Bedrock scripture for our
ministry.

Matthew 25:35-36 NASB- “For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; 36 naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.”
